I read that are some companies that cheat on the actual amount of active ingredient of hoodia in the tablets. Because Hoodia is in short supply, some companies got cheated by their suppliers.

I guess the best way is to test it out yourself to see if that particular brand works. Or you could follow others who have lost weight. I like hoodia myself because I was able to lose 10 lbs.

looks great!

crock of shite...only prescription tablets work

On November 21, 2004 CBS correspondent, Lesley Stahl reported on 60 Minutes that a strange little plant, Hoodia Gordonii,"... is a natural substance that literally takes your appetite away. "According to CBS, "Scientists say that it fools the brain by making you think you're full, even if you've eaten just a morsel. http://www.freewebs.com/americanhealthca...

Now, word of this amazing plant is spreading like wildfire across the country and taking the consumer market by storm. Many are calling the discovery of Hoodia Gordonii the breakthrough of the decade. http://www.gordoniihoodia.net

Apparently the real plant does help-BUT- it is not exported, please read this whole article from the BBC which was 'borrowed and EDITED! by some of the sites selling hoodia to look like the BBC were saying that their product was legit!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/co...

The last paragraph reads:
Unfortunately for the overweight, Hoodia will not be around for several years, the clinical trials still have several years to run.

Do not travel to the Kalahari to steal the plant as it is hard to find and illegal to export.

And beware internet sites offering Hoodia "pills" from the US as we tested the leading brand and discovered it has no discernible Hoodia in it.

So just be patient. Help is at hand.

Hoodia has been around for a while, but is pretty hopeless as an aid for sustained weight loss, so it does not matter much if it is genuine or not. On January 4, 2007 the U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced that the marketers of TrimSpa had agreed to pay a settlement of $1.5 million in response to an FTC complaint of making unsupported claims in advertisements, and were also prohibited "from making any claims about the health benefits, performance, efficacy, safety, or side effects of TrimSpa, Hoodia gordonii, or any dietary supplement, food, drug, or health-related service or program, unless the claims are true, not misleading, and substantiated by competent and reliable scientific evidence." The FTC also announced similar settlements with the marketers of Xenadrine EFX, CortiSlim, and One-A-Day WeightSmart.
