Trying to lose weight. help! Many questions.?!


Question: Hi I'm 14 and I'm trying to lose some weight before summer. I have been dieting for about 3 weeks but I don't I don't think it's working. So I have some questions about it.

1. When should you weigh your self?
I weigh my self many times a day and when I see I've gained weight I get very depressed because like an hour ago I was 5lbs. less

2. What exercizes can I do to help me lose weight?
I feel weird whenever I try jogging. I don't know why I just do. I just don't like running. I do walk everyday when it's nice out though. I just took a half hour walk about in hour ago. It's like 50 degrees here so It's really nice out compared to what were used to.

3. You know that whole 8 glasses of water a day thing. I never understood that. How much is 8 glasses of water. People use different sized water bottles and cups. Also I heard for 8 glasses of water things like tea, fruit, milk and seltzer count too is that true.

Any more tips you have would be great.

weigh yourself once every few days at the same time of day-say right when you wake up... at the most. body weight fluctuates throughout the day and it will just cause you to give up. walking is good but youll have to do more than a 1/2hr., curls and sit ups are good, lots of stretching. maybe a pilates or taebo video. and 8 glasses is 8 cups. 8 , 8 oz. glasses, that is ..so 64ounces a day. it only counts if it is water based. juice would help but not be a whole 8 ounce cup...i dont know about milk.

I only weigh myself once a week on the same day first thing in the morning. Your weight will fluctuate throughout the day so don't let that depress you.

I walk a lot too and use an elliptical machine at home. Sometimes I just turn on some music and dance.

They mean to drink 8 8 oz glasses of water a day for a total of 64 oz. I believe anything without caffeine can be counted as one serving of water.

1) You could try weighing yourself at the end of each week.

2) Buy a jump rope and then go in your backyard/where ever and just jump rope.

3) I don't know. Just don't drink any caffiene drinks, and you'll be fine. :)

When you started your diet you should of weighed yourself and not again for about a month! Women bloat, your period may be on it's way, inless you are a whole cake you can't gain 5 pounds in an hour, you may have drank water, or ate! it takes 3500 calories to gain one pound and you need to burn 3500 calories to loose a pound.

Cardio is a great way to loose pounds, You can dance around at home, go for a walk, get on the treadmill just get off the couch and start moving! But weight lifting is much better because as soon as cardio is done you stop burning calories, weight traning after finished still burns calories.. Plus musle burns fat!

Take a bottle of water and drink 8 of them a day, no juice, tea, fruit and milk dont count for one of the 8 glasses of water needed a day.

follow these steps CAREFULLY:
1) dont be depressed, it would make you eat more.
2)drink plenty of water or add crystal light, it would sastisfiy your appitite if you are still hungry.
3)DONT SKIP MEALS!!! skipping meals is not part of losing weight. Breackfast- have Kashi whole grain waffles with straw berries, lunch: have subway with low fat turkey and add some tomatoe or lettuce, snack: try a luna snack bar low in calories and is healty, dinner: have anything low fat and low calories.

work out 1 day, then skip a day, 1 day, skip, 1 day ,skip and so on... walking is great, keeps doing that. you can play DDR, i do that and i lost 9 lbs!

dont go too crazy with the weight loss.

if you cheat on your diet, it's okay, you still have a chance to get back on track!
