Does a corset help build the muscle in the lower part of the stomach?!

Question: No, a corset won't help to build muscle in the lower part of the stomach.

It actually prevents good circulation of blood to the area and is a louzy product that may cause you to have lower back pain, if you've it too tight as the tightness put pressure on your lower back.....

To build muscle in lower part of stomach, try Pilates.

It's a toning exercise that tones, sculpts, strengthens, balances and stretches your core muscles (i.e. stomach, butts, back, thighs/hips and spine), especially the muscles in your stomach.

The sheer act of pulling-in your navel back into your spine, is enough to strenghten and flatten your stomach.

Absolutely not. If anything, it tenderizes the muscles there.

Corsets pretty much squeeze your organs together. It's not a good look.

I own a health and nutrition business and have taught fitness. A corset doesn't help to build any type of muscle. It does just the opposite. I holds in the muscles and offers a false support so the muscles don't have to work as hard to support your core, so you end up getting flabbier in your stomach.

Corsets support the body so the muscles don't have to. This weakens the muscles. Way, way back in the day when rich girls starting wearing corsets really early, like age 4-5, they would actually reach a point where they had to wear it because they couldn't really support themselves anymore. They thought this was good because it was indicitive of how delicate and fragile the females were.

no, it actually causes muscle loss but you can get a small waist that way as long as you wear the corset. I think the world record for the smallest waist is like 5 inches. the woman had a custom corset that she wore for years. it must have been tight.
***as general rule if your not doing it yourself its not going to strengthen your muscles. thats why crunches are good. sucking in you stomach is good too because you have to use your stomach muscles to hold it in.
