Everyone thinks I'm anorexic--but I'm not!?!


Question: I'm about 110 and 5'4" tall. Lots of people are taller than me, and lots of people are shorter than me! Well, I'm pretty weight-obsessed. I toss half my lunch because it's nasty and eat the other half. I do about 150 sit-ups, 50 jumping jacks, and take a jog almost every day. Friends ask me if I have an eating disorders. I thought--Wow, I'm thin! Now doctors and my friends' parents are asking me and my mom if I'm anorexic. I don't look anorexic, I'm fat. when I do the online BMI calculator, I'm about 0.4 points away from underweight, so why do people make such a big deal out of it? What can I do to keep getting healthier without getting everyone all flipped out?

You aren't doing anything wrong. You are doing everything very normal, and your weight also sounds very normal. Just keep doing what you are doing. You sound very healthy and you probably look healthy too. Maybe the people that are telling you this are just jealous of you. My God, you aren't fat though and you know you aren't fat! Stop obsessing over this though - it will make you miserable. Just enjoy your life.

Fcuk em. If you know you're not doing anything unhealthy then don't pay attention to them.

Don't make a big production over throwing out half your food. If you don't like it just dispose of it. Not a big deal.

Also why would you say your fat in one breath "I don't look anorexic, I'm fat" but "Wow, I'm thin" in the next. Talk like that and people tend to think the worst since you can't seem to make up your mind.

eat more protein so you dont lose weight but you build lean muscle. are you anorexic? only you can answer that but i dont know why you would toss your lunch if you werent. maybe look into whether or not you have characteristics of an anorexic. NOT saying you are, but maybe try to look at where others are coming from

I'm so sorry to say that you need professional help..I'm SERIOUS.That's a disorder that need PROFESSIONAL HELP.Please hear everyone out because you will be thankful in the end.Sometimes..not to be mean or anything but honestly..sometimes.......being too thin can be ..wellllll..UGLY..it's DISGUSTINGGGGG !!!!! TOO THIN IS NEVER GOOD.EAT MOREEE.

Well, are you thinking about food and weight and ways to lose weight all day? Do you hide food or eat food with little calories/fat? Do you see food as adding fat on your body or as something to enjoy and to keep you alive? (The second way is healthy...the first isn't.) Really think about those because I don't think that you should block out any chance that you don't have an eating disorder because it can definitely come on very quickly. It did for me, at least. The fact that you said that you are fat when you are very close to being underweight is unhealthy.

Okay,let me honest and answer your question. You posted a concern so don't get offended by what I'm about to tell you. It appears to me that you are anorexic. First, you toss food and insist that you are "fat" which isn't good. With someone that exercises as much as you do, it's important to get enough to eat. As far as your weight, you are borderline underweight and you still insist your "fat". That's a problem and I really suggest that you get professional help before it's too late.
