im anorexic myself and its more of having the fear of putting any weight on and making sure you eat as little as possible so its basically just eating to stay alive. Also it depends if you think you are fat as anorexics see themselves as fat and hate the way they look when others see them as extremely thin x

no because when someone is anorexic it MEANS whatever they eat they throw up

i am, not sure but i think that it could be either

yes because anorexia is termed as severe food restriction below 500 calories and intense fear of food....bulimia is when you throw up.

Bulimia is the disease when people gorge themselves and then make themselves throw up. I would be very concerned about someone who only ate 240 cal. a day. If an eating condition is suspect, professional help is available. Believe it or not there are medicines to help a person overcome.

Most anorexics eat something othrwise they woud be dead in several weeks. Most manage to go on for years being seriously underweight and undermining their health living on not enough calories.
So if someone just had a bad day and ate nothing they would not be anorexic but if they habitually underate they would be anorexic. On 240 calories a day your body will be feeding on its internal organs weakening the heart and other organs. Karen Carpenter died of heart failure due to anorexia.
Dont do it - get help.

Being annorexic would mean you eat like a peice of bred, and a few carrots a day. Very, very little amount of food, sometimes even nothing. They also exersize a TON.

And to the first person, no, BULIMCS throw their food up after every meal. Bulimic people actually eat normal, they just puke after.

Either way, both bulimia and annorexia are stupid, and for girls who dont take care of their bodies.

It's a little of both. Even with the dysmorphic outlook on their bodies, anorexics realize that they need some type of fuel - even if it's very little, to give themselves enough energy to exercise profusely. If you know someone like this or are speaking of yourself, seek someone trusted to talk to immediately. Anorexia is a disease and it's not something that those who are afflicted with it necessarily bring on themselves. Just remember to act as a support and never point fingers and taunt his or her illness.

Anorexia is an eating disorder characterised by a markedly reduced appetite or total aversion to food.
Anorexia is a serious psychological disorder and not just about how much you do or don't eat. In fact the food intake is almost a side issue. Body dysmorphic disorder is one aspect where, initially, the person may begin to diet to lose weight and then, over time, the weight loss becomes a sign of mastery and control. The drive to become thinner is thought to be secondary to concerns about control and fears relating to one's body.
Another form may become apparent through depression triggering a reduced appetite which then can become habitual leading to the person being considered anorexic too.
Anorexia is an obsession surrounding food, self control (which is why prolonged exercise is often an aspect too) and sense of self - similar to an addiction to a drug or alcohol. Anorexia can be life-threatening.
