Question: if i am a 13 year old girl who weighs 125 and is 5"4' over weight? all my friends say i am super skinny, but i feel really fat. its probably because i have a really "fat" belly. my family say its because i am going through puberty, but i just want to know. I would feel much better about myself if i was about 110 but i dont know how to loose weight
please help me

I asked my doctor once why I was skinny all over except my stomach. She told me that teenage girls, ages 11-16, usually have belly fat because that fat is stored to later distribute to the breasts and hips. Its there only temperorily, then it will all shift to your boobs or hips. Its just the bodys way to get ready for a major growth spurt or puberty,

You are not overweight, you are perfect right now. Just eat healthy, like fruits, which taste soo much better than vegetables. I hate vegetables and never eat them and I'm still healthy and weigh 95 pounds. If you really want to lose weight, though, the best way is to avoid carbs, candy, and starchy foods since that hoards fat longer. You should exercise by doing fun things so that you stick to it. But dont worry, your not fat at all. And your belly fat WILL go away in time, just be patient. Good luck!

you do not need to lose weight, that is a great weight if not too low. just try toning up your body if you are uncomfortable with your tummy by doing crunches, lunges, cardio, etc. :)

i think that u sound skinny and they are right, it probably is just cuz u r going through puberty. if u want to check what u should weigh then u should check your BMI on the internet

you're nowhere near overweight. don't start obsessing about your weight now, it can turn into something unhealthy later on in life.

A 13 year old shouldn't be questioning her weight at this age. This is a perfectly healthy weight and its ridiculous that people are telling you to "tone" and do all these exercises. Live your life when you're this young and not worry about this.

do ab excercises 4 times per week, 30 crunches, and 30 lifts with your legs up in the air, your back on the ground, lifting up your but. my friend is the same, and shes normal

Hey. Well according to You BMI your healthy. It is 21.5 and that is perfect weigh for your height and this is what the chart is like for your BMI:

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

So your at a healthy weight. However if you were 110 you would be 18.9 and that would just be scraping into the healthy range so thats not good.
