How to gain healthy weight?!


Question: My friend is 14 and really skinny. Quite a good deal underweight. She eats a good amount, and doesn't rly exercise...but she's really needs to gain weight. Any advice? And healthy weight, not fat, plz?

The best way to gain healthy weight is by weight training & eating healthy (not starving).

I was really skinny at one point & desperately wanted to gain weight (healthy weight). At that point, I could eat whatever I wanted & still didn't gain weight. So, I joined a gym. I lifted weights & started putting on lean muscle mass. I never looked better! I've been doing it ever since.

If she doesn't feel comfortable going to a gym, she could get some free weights to use at home.

if it is a problem she should try boosts, or something, and she should probably start exercising. if she builds muscle, she will gain weight.

Try taking her for lunch at a steak house so she will eat good meat... that should help her gain healthy weight

She will pick up weight as she gets older. Don't encourage her to change her eating habits. They will change with time and as she finishes up puberty her body will fill out. Everything will be alright.

ok. she really needs to think that she needs to eat more. to not to make her think anorexic, you should invite her to parties and so on and make her eat. if she says 'no thanks.', say she needs to eat coz everybody is eating fairly but not her. also, if you trust her quite well, say she should eat more by eating average amount balance of lipids, starch, and carbohydrates but no snacks at all if she wanna diet. in recess, make her eat fruits if she cant be bothered to eat.

increase her calorie intake.
