I would say first that 1000 cal/day can't be enough for a man. (not for a woman either)

Your weight loss or gain depends on the balance how many calories you consume, and you use for activities. I would recommend you to eat minimum 1800-200, and exercise more to burn the calories.

If you don't eat enough, your metabolism must be pretty slow, and if you go over the 1000 calories, it will immediately store the extra as fat, to survive. To prevent this, do cardiovascular exercises, then you will manage your weight even if you eat more.

There is a way to calculate how many calories you need on average + if you have a pulse measuring watch (fe. Polar) then it shows how many calories you use during exercising. This things might help you to balance the intake and use a healthier way than eat too little.

But I must say if you were able to keep a 1000 calorie diet for a half year, your willpower must be very strong! (This doesn't mean that it is the healthiest way to lose fat, or maintain your weight.)

1500

Maintain your original diet with a binge every so often. Once you stop your diet, you'll slowly put on all the weight you've lost.

this depends on your body and your lifestyle.

(if you are active and have a fast metabolism then you can eat more calories and vice versa)

Raise the number of calories you consume by a hundred every couple of weeks or so until you get to a point where your weight is stable.

(I would guess somewhere between 1800/2100)

it is important that you raise the number of calories a day slowwwwwly.
