Squats and lunges for sure. As far as the bum, nothing blasts the butt fat harder than simply stepping up and down from a chair or step.

If you're really serious about it, this is a perfect time to begin more serious bicycling by going to a real bicycle shop, as opposed to KMart, WalMart, Target and the likes, and put some money down on a good riding bike, like a Trek, with toe clips or similar device on the pedals, and some bicycling shoes and lycra shorts and jersey, and helmut and riding gloves, and get active with whatever bicycle riding club that the shop may have going, and RIDE. I can tell you, after decades and thousands of miles riding with groups and alone, you'll have the best looking thighs (and the strongest too) and butt anywhere around. Squats are definately great, however also leg extensions REALLY focus on your quadraceps (thighs).

Legs extensions are when you sit and then using a weight in front of your ankles, you fully extend (open/ straighten) your legs.
