If you excercise and eat a lot does your metabolism get really fast?!

Question: My dad tells me if you diet your metabolism actually slows down because you are eating less. He says if you wan't to have a really really fast metabolism all you have to do is excercise with the combonation of eating a lot. I enjoy eating a lot anyway, so im thinking of doing this. He says its more simple to just burn off what you eat instead of diet. People have lost weight this way overtime actually because there metabolism speeds up my dad said and they end up burning more then they eat. Even though they are eating A LOT. If I ate a lot and just run 3-4 miles a day and lifted weights on some days during the week would I have a fast metabolism? I just don't want to gain weight, I wan't to stay where im at but be able to eat what I wan't. You know? Pretty much what everyone wants. I figure if I just eat what I want like normal people and excercise daily I won't gain weight. What do you guys think?

Your dad is right you just have to make sure what you are eating is good. You cant expect to eat 6 high fat high carb meals a day and lose weight. What you eat and the timing is key. But bottom line is that he is correct, lack of food causes a metabolic slowdown and will cause you to retain body fat

not if what you eat is high in fat and sugar. many sweets have too much fat/sugar and it's harder for your body to process it, so you store fat.
eating healthy meals 4-5 times a day and exercising can make you lose weight. but if you regulary have fast food and very little healthy food, even with exercise you will not lose weight. you may even become tired when you exercise.

if you burn more calories than you eat you lose weight. if you eat food with a lot of calories you will have to do some intense exercise to burn that.
and just remember what you consider 'normal' food might lack the recommended nutrients your body needs to be able to run properly.
