Not Hungry?!


Question: I have not been hungry for three days.. I am not anorexic but I have just been so busy I havent been hungry and I just realized, wow I have barely eaten these last few days

Thursday-
Small slice of pizza

Friday-
Hand full chex mix

Today-
A few peanut butter pretzels


I know not eating is bad but I am just not hungry. Why do think that is?

your mind is so busy .....try to eat small little things here and there even if you not hungry

the less you eat the more your body slows down its need for consumption to preserve itself (survival mode)... this is also why some people, including myself, get addicted to fasting and anorexia

If you have been so busy you may be stressed out. Stress will make you not have an appetite. Slow down a little and your appetite will come back.

That is bizarre... It could be some kind of medical problem. You really do need to get a certain amount of calories for your body to work. Tomorrow try to eat food that is high in protein and nutrients (instead of, as you did those three days, only consuming empty calories). Make sure you drink plenty of water also, because almost all of the water we consume each day comes from our food so you could become dehydrated. It's possible that if you just force yourself to eat you might kickstart your hunger response or something, but if the next few days you still aren't hungry and are consuming so few calories you should really go to the doctor because whether you initially feel them or not, there will be negative effects.

If you stop eating you can actually go past feeling hungry, your body loses the ability to know when it needs food. It basically means your body is in starvation mode. You need to force yourself to eat small amounts throughout the day, at least enough to power your body's basic functions (you can find out by using a basal metabolic rate calculator - you can google it). Have a few crackers, fruit, vegetables, cheese etc. If you don't it can lead to serious and life-long health problems. It can affect your internal organs, your heart, your brain and your fertility.
