I have a question about the Master Cleanse Diet below:?!


Question: OK, I have a big event in two weeks and I really need to lose the weight fast. I heard you can drop 20 pounds in 10 days with the Master Cleanse Diet-also known as the Lemon Diet and so forth. Beyonce even used it. However, I am nearly 17 years old, so is it safe for my age? Apparently, it's designated for nearly everyone. And I've always maintained a healthy lifestyle, I do exercise everyday. But I like to eat carbs unfortunately...so is it healthy for a 16-17 year old?

This is not a healthy diet for anyone, especially a child of your age. You will damage your system and be like a lot of my clients who did something like this to their bodies.

I'm a holistic nutritionist and am worried that there are so many diet fads, pills, and everything else that is ruining young bodies. I see it everyday. I would rather give people advise about what fruit is best for nutrients....instead I deal with eating disorders.

I'm sure you'll ignore this and move on to someone who says it works great and doesn't give a crap that your body is going to be ruined.

I've completed the Master Cleanse a couple of times and have lost 10-12 lbs. during each 10 day program. It is a VERY intense way to cleanse and is best done in a retreat setting with supervision by a competent person with experience in cleansing (especially the first time you do it). Unless you can do that, I'd recommend that you avoid the master cleanse for now.

That said, it sounds like your goal is to lose weight fast and safely. The best way to do that is to go on a 80% - 100% raw fruit and vegetable diet. No pastas, no breads, no rice, no meat, no sugar... This will take the weight off quickly but in a way that is gentle to the body. You can get more information on my two websites listed below.
