Did you watch "I Can Make You Thin" on TLC last night? What did you th!

Question: I think it's a very reasonable way to lose weight. Paul stresses that you need to eat slowly and enjoy the flavor of your food and to listen to your stomach when you're full. I tried it this morning and I had a hard time telling when I was full. My target weight loss is 15 lbs. What's yours?

I did watch it, I just used the same kind of 'consciousness' to quit smoking and it worked wonderfully. I quit with ease and have made the experience positive instead of negative!!!!! I want the same assocuiation with food. Diets do not work.... in the long term anyway. Approaching food as a calm and conscious approach interests me. I didnt finish my morning bagel so I am going to continue to try this method. Does anybody remember the 4 golden rules?

i thought it was stupid...

I watched it, but I wasn't too impressed. He didn't say anything I either haven't heard/read before, or figured out myself. The woman may have been consciously eating, but I just thought of how disgusting and unhealthy it was, especially if it was a box mix with fake cheese powder and white noodles. The rice she had was rice, and that's definitely not healthy. I saw no vegetables or fruit. The couple seemed to live on take out. Again, processed foods and preservatives.

I also wondered how the mother's "diet" was to fit in with the rest of the family's eating.

Unless he mentioned it after I fell asleep, I heard nothing about nutrition and health.

When I was awake, I was eating what I wanted-- a bowl of frozen raspberries and blueberries.

Of course, I eat when I'm hungry, why wouldn't I?

Also, I don't give myself the over sized portions as what the woman had. Yet, none of her food, or couple's take out didn't look particularly healthy to me. I suppose it goes along the lines of what Mr. McKenna was saying in regards that the body might no longer want the salty, yucky stuff.

To me, the show wasn't too impressive.

Isnt the whole reason for losing weight to be healthy? Eating what you want mean probably no fruits and vegetables. I think his "diet plan" is ridiculous.

I think it would actually work so I am going to try it. I tried it this morning and they way I found out i was full because I asked myself if I was really that hungry any more and I wasn't. My target weight loss is 35 pounds and I have already lost 9 from changing some of my eating habits. I hope you lose that weight :)

I thought It was gonna be a bunch of stuff I've heard already (and it was) but he put it in a way that I thought was very new and potentially effective.

I've already began putting my FORK DOWN between bites and I have to say, that stuff works!!!

I'm not saying it will be a miracle, but it is a good way to start new habits.

I can't wait for the next show.

EDIT: You don't even wanT to KNOW my target weight loss. It's over 100. Yikes. Just trying to stay positive. Good luck with yours.

I think it's very encouraging and if you can follow the rules, you won't have anything to loose except weight. Of course there will be people who say it's stupid like some below me, but I think you should continue watching the series and try to follow the rules. I don't think that he is really saying to eat mac & cheese every meal, and i think he'll put more emphasis on eating more healthily in later episodes. It makes a whole lot more sense than dieting and trying to starve yourself. It's a lifestyle that will help you in the long run.
