How important is the way you breathe during exercise?!

Question: It's just as important as making sure that you do the exercise correctly...it's almost a waste of time exercising if you're not breathing right...cause you're not getting the benefit from the exercise that you're doing.

Well the more noise (so like breath in and out) you make during sets of excersices, the less crunches you have to do.
Breathing is pretty important. Your muscles need a lot oxygen during excersice.

about as importat as when youre having a baby.

ummm, well if oyur breathing at a normal rate, then you have not exercised correctly or have not done enough but if you are breathing faster just a little the nyou are good, you exercised right did the right amount of time. if you exercised so hard that you are heaving you chest then to much. slow it down a bit.

hope i helped. ^_^ ?

Breathing is VERY important when you exercise. When it comes to cardio type exercise, maintaining a steady breathing pattern is key. You should be able to breath in a controlled manner, in through your nose and out through your mouth (unless you have a cold or other issues that prevent you from breathing through your nose).

When lifting weights, you want to breath out when you're exerting yourself, or contracting the muscle and then breath in when you're releasing the contraction, or on the negative portion of the exercise. For example, when doing a sit up, you want to breath out when you're sitting up and in when you're lying back down.

Regardless of the type of exercise you're doing, NEVER hold your breath. This is very dangerous because you are depriving your body of oxygen and increasing your blood pressure.
