Have you flattened your gut just by using a treadmill and watching what you eat !

Question: I quit smoking and gained about 35lbs but I'm limited on time and thought 30 minutes on a treadmill a day would be enough or is there more I need to know ?

if you can not do other than tread mil then
do it interval training on that tread mil

like this
walk 3 min. then run 1 min. and walk 5 min. then run or jog 30 sec.
alternative this way you burn much more calories in 30min. than do that regular way.

for jog or run that depending on your current activities level
so don't over do it from the beginning

Crubches (set ups ) will tighten your abdominal muscles.

Did You Also Know That "Abs Exercises" Such as Crunches, Leg Raises, & Sit-Ups are Actually the LEAST EFFECTIVE Method of Getting Rid of Stubborn Stomach Fat & Love Handles to Uncover Your Abs? And No, the Answer to Belly Fat Loss is NOT Cardio Either!

Yep, you heard me right! Abdominal exercises should only be a VERY small portion of your workouts. In addition, If you don't perform the right ab exercises in the most effective fashion, you could actually be making your stomach worse!

Ok, here's the deal... If you want your workouts to stimulate abdominal fat loss for those flat sexy abs, you need a properly designed full body resistance training workout that takes into account certain key factors for stimulating your metabolic rate and increasing your production of fat-burning hormones.

If you ignore these key factors, you're DOOMED to a flabby stomach forever! I'll discuss more details about these key factors in a bit.

I used to have the fattest stomach. Here's a good site I found that really helped. It gave me great workouts and diet tips and showed me what I was doing wrong before...

congrats on quitting smoking!!!!! i too am a quitter (exactly 6 months to the day as a matter of fact). i gained around 35lb too after quiting. i flattened back out by using the treadmill, eliptical, mostly runing on the track tho. i counted calories and made sure they came from healthy foods. good luck, you can do it!! know u can because i did, i was in the same boat as u. i got abs now

30 minutes on a treadmill is a great start. You can burn up to 300 calories easily that way. The treadmill is a cardiovascular exercise, which doesn't really gain muscle, but increases your heart rate and helps you burn extra calories. Muscle requires more calories to maintain, so doing workouts like bench presses and lifting weights that burn muscle will help you lose weight in the long run, because it will help you burn more calories throughout the day.

Yes I've seen it first hand. Decrease your caloric intake all while increasing your exercise levels and there's your weight loss.

Just know that the body tends to use its fat stores from wherever it wants first, so just because you're losing weight doesn't mean your stomach will go first. You might see toning in your legs or arms or neck but believe me--keep at it and you'll see total body results in time. Strive for 1 to 3lbs of weight loss per week.

Walking on a treadmill will help you loose your 'gut' but you need to do more then just walking. You have too increase your heart rate (you can do that by turning the speed up on the treadmill) almost like intervals. Walk three minutes, run two, etc. This will promote fat loss alot faster, but as well you need to decrease your calorie intake (not too low though!) just about 500 calories fewer each day then you typically burn on an average day. I have done this for awhile and sucessfully achieved my goal! :D If you're limited on time, try decreasing your calorie intake a little bit more then 500 (but getting all the daily nutrients youre body needs to function properly) and increasing physical activity. Hope this helps.. :)

Are you drinking your fluids? Are you keeping track of calories and the fats in your diet?
Are you doing 30 second to one minute spurts of faster walking, this burns more calories than just doing your 30 minutes at one speed. It's good too if you could add weights, and mix up your routine
