Flip-Flopping Weight Loss?!

Question: My boyfriend is 5'7 and weighs about ('I'm guessing), in the 450-489 range (mostly stomach area). The problem is that every couple of months or so, he's always saying that he wants to lose weight, he hates the way he look, or that he wants to be around for his 30th birthday. He has sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and was also diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I try to encourage him, tell about things he could do, but he does nothing. At one point he had signed up to get the gastric bypass done. But when we broke up for a few weeks and then got back together, he changed his mind. And now it seems like he's gotten bigger. He claims he has lost weight, but I don't see where. I'm starting to think that his excessive weight is messing with his sex drive. He can never ****with me, he has to do it manually cause it takes him so long. I mean nearly 45 min. He keeps saying what he's gonna do, but he's not doing anything. Anybody know of any good dieting tips or programs he can join?

sounds like the whole problem is that he's not doing anything. the key to any diet is willpower and commitment, and it doesn't sound like he has that. i don't understand why, because it sounds like it's screwing up every area of his life. but you're his girlfriend, so you probably know more about what makes him tick.

i have a friend who's on slimming world, and she loves it. she's still allowed to eat a lot of the food she wants, which keeps her motivated. she's lost around 25lbs since january.

why don't you try to encourage him by doing the food shop and replacing all fatty, high calorie foods with fruit, cereal bars and healthier options?

on a weekend, take him out for a romantic picnic in the park - which involves walking! it may help your relationship, whilst getting him active!

good luck.
