Is too much fiber bad for you?!

Question: No - but a lot of people make the mistake of suddenly increasing their fibre intake without increasing their water intake. This means that the fibre bulks in their stomach and they end up bloated, in pain (sometimes with gas), and seriously constipated.

Done the right way, a fibre rich diet is very good for you.

no

You should have about 35 grams a day.Fiber reduces bad cholesterol, helps with going to the bathroom, makes you feel full.....ect.Too much(over 35 grams daily) can leave you bloated, gassy and pooping too much.

In society now-a-days, rarely do people get TOO MUCH fiber. So go ahead and dig into your veggies, just drink plenty of water too! You should be drinking at least 8 cups a day anyways.

Only if it causes an irritation.

a diet rich in fiber around 35 g per day does u good but if you eata diet which is predominantly fibrous, the essential nutrients that your body requires will not be absorbed efficiently apart from the other problems already mentioned by the others above

anything too much is bad for you. part of the reason the inmates of the WWII concentration camps were so skinny was because they had more fiber in their diet than anything else.

A diet of only fiber or with too much fiber contains too little nutritients, Fiber needs a lot of water so it could cause need for water, thirst etc

YES, too much of it will decrease your body's absorption of the nutrients. A serving of vegetables everyday is enough to keep your intestines healthy if you like eating veggies rather than taking exogenous fiber supplements, but if you're the picky type when eating veggies take fiber supplements but remember to give your body other nutrients that is not present in a fiber supplement. Good luck!
