I used to do pilates and its goal in not to help you lose weight. It helps you strengten you core muscles, tones you up and increases your flexibility (yoga is the best for flexibility though).

If you are looking to lose weight, you should so at least 45 minutes of cardio to even start burning fat. Yes pilates last for about 1 hr persession but its not as visible in results as cardio will be.

You diet will matter a lot as well if you want to lose weight.
