Swimming is better because it's kinder to your joints for one. It also works your heart and does make you stronger. You can burn more calories with swimming. It's hard work to keep it up. You can lose more weight swimming but it's harder.

Simply put, the exercise you are most likely to stick with will be the most effective. Given the choice, I prefer swimming (easier on the joints).

Yes..Swimming is better..Swimming is very tiring..but you dont lose your breath and get cramps that often..Im a swimmer and I swim for the whole summer..I only got 2 cramps during last summer...I run every night..I get cramps like after 20 mins...I swim for three hours and loose like 3-5 pounds..I run for 3-5 (jog or walk)and loose 1 pound..

Running is often an easier option, because you can do it every day. Swimming requires you to go to a pool and have a membership at said pool.

If you can get to a pool on a regular basis, swimming might be a better option simply because it's easy on the joints and you have a lot of resistance. But, if you can't, then running will definitely be a good decision because you can run whenever you want to, and if you can do it more often, you'll probably end up burning more calories than if you went to the pool twice a week.

Or, perhaps you could go to the pool twice a week and go for a jog 2 - 3 times a week... that way your workout varies and you don't get bored.

Have fun!

Why not do both?

I run to the pool to swim laps..... saves gas, and I get the best of both workouts.
