Will I loose weight with cardio only???!

Question: I want to loose some pounds, and started doing 1hour cardio every morning right after I wake up. For two weeks now I am doing this, but haven't lost any weight. In fact I gained 1-2pounds.

My question I know two weeks are not much, but will I loose weight with only cardio?
I want to add strength training, but right now I want to get used to morning workout only with cardio.

I also watch what I eat, but I am not a calorie counting person.
I eat less carbs etc. My food is not really my problem./

I know with strength training, I gain muscle, better metabolism etc etc, but i just want to hear about cardio at this point.

What do you think?

P.S Like I said I know two weeks are not a long time, but I do notice my body changed. It is firmer, toned and my legs too.
But nothing on the scale

You're probably losing fat weight, but gaining it right back with toning of the muscles...Cardio is very heart healthy so it's good to do that every morning anyway...Maybe try a diet and add some work-out during the day...Your going to gain muscle so I wouldn't pay much attention to the scale as you do your waist size...That's most important...Good Luck!

As long as you cut down on the food that cause weight gain, like refined foods, candies, fried things..then YES, cardio will work!

Only if you burn more calories than you eat.

cardio is a bag in china

yes, it speeds up your metabolism you need to eat healthier

Yes, you will still lose weight but your diet is just as important as the exercise.

Calories you eat - calories you burn = caloric deficit = weight loss.

4 sure just cut all your meals in half
<3

It's impossible to lose weight if you stop eating enough calories every day. You have to have the right amount of healthy food in there. If you stop eating, your metabolism will slow down. Most people don't know that. So yes, you're eating less carbs...make sure your eating enough CALORIES.

you will lose weight with cardio only.. ESPECIALLY running. dont lose faith. u kno what ur doing to ur body: better heart, metab, burning fat, etc... this is all good.

really tho, i dont think u should be too concerned with ur weight. as long as u look good, stay firm, and stay confident, i think u'll be fine.

also, i would recomment squats, lunges, pushups, crunches over weight lifting... unless ur tryna get all beasty.

muscle weighs more than fat but two weeks is not time enough to judge your excercise program.

When the heart rate increses to the "cardiovascular range," you are burning far more carbohyrates than fat. Carbs are actually a very good source of energy for the body and they break down easily into glucose which feeds the brain.

Since fat does not provide sufficient energy to the
body, when you increase your heart rate too much, carbohydrates become the primary fuel. Again, this will lead to more calories being burned, but you will burn less fat. This is particularly a problem if you are on a low to no carb diet, because maintaining a high heart rate will cause your body to break down muscle INSTEAD OF FAT!

Since muscle weighs more than fat, you will actually notice substantial weight loss, but this is not the result of losing fat cells. So be very cautious in how you choose to work out.

YOU KNOW WHAT JUST GO THE GYM EXCERSIZE DAILY
EAT HEALTHY, FRUITS, VEGGIES, MEAT W/E AND YOU SHOULD TAKE PILLS IF YOU WANT, D0N'T STARVE YOURSELF, I MEAN D0 WHAT YOU CAN TO MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF.

lose not loose. but to lose weight, you just have to remember that calories IN needs to be less than calories BURNED. so if you are doing enough cardio to burn off at least what you have eaten for the day you will maintain.

1 lb is 3,500 calories so to safely lose 1-2 lbs a week you will need to burn 500-1000 more than what you have taken in for the day. you don't want more than a 1000 calorie deficit and we need to eat at least 1200 cals a day. but it is best not to eat less than your BMR. you can go online and search a BMR calculator to find out what yours is. try not to eat less than that number and then find out what your daily burn rate is. your BMR should be less than your DBR. you can get more info at www.caloriecount.about.com.

Also muscle weighs more than fat... so you may have gained some muscle while you lost some fat during the past two weeks... that would explain the weight gain. the best thing to do is measure yourself instead of weighing in.

Actually you could be gaining more muscle which weighs more than fat. So if you go by the scale it will say you gained more weight, when you really didn't. Keep it up, it sounds like you're doing a great job. I lost all the weight I wanted to loose by dieting and excersing. Now I'm done dieting, but still don't overeat. I do cardio and lightweights every evening. Keep up with the cardio, it really helps. Also if you do workout videos it's a good idea to do a few different ones, to suprise those muscles! Good Luck.

While I was in the Army my workout routine was heavily cardio. I gained 20 lbs and 2 pants sizes, but my tummy was the flattest it's ever been. Cardio or weight lifting build a lot of muscle. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat. Are you worried about losing lbs, or looking thinner and more toned. If you want to lose weight I would suggest diet, light cardio (such as aerobics), yoga, Pilate's. If you want to look and feel more healthy, and care about your BMI rather than your scale, do heavier cardio and weight training. Jog with hand and/or ankle weights. Or you can jog up and down stairs (or use the equivalent machines). Ellipticals are great low-impact high cardio machines. They don't damage the joints in your lower body the way most other cardio exercise does.
