My friend is fat, but she doesnt eat. i dont get it?!


Question: my best friend is fat. but she eats like nothing! she NEVER eats lunch, she occasionally has a snack. and trust me, im with her literally 24/7 so i know she doesnt eat when im not around. why???

I don't know why but usually when u don't eat u can actually gain more weight suppose to doing a diet.

i feel your friend has this genetically, she's not anorexic, she started to not eat very lately, she has NOT been on this deit her entire life, believe it or not. As her why she dosent eat, that should calm things down .. :D

She is probably starving herself. When she does eat, her body stores all the nutrients from her food, not just what she needs. This could be the cause. She needs to be eating 3 to 4 times a day.

how long has she not been eating?
when you starve yourself your body stores fat. if you continue to starve yourself you do lose weight, but when you eat again you gain it all back.

Eating sometimes has nothing to do with a persons weight. Each person is born with a "set-point" and it's very rare to find someone who can keep more then 15 pounds off when discontinuing a diet.

On a different note, I'm concerned for your friend. Overweight people often have low self esteems and you said that she doesn't eat. I would seriously talk to her about it.

If she gets up and goes to the bathroom alone often, also after drinking a lot of water, talk to her. I'm not trying to conclude that she has an eating disorder, but she's showing symptoms of it

maybe shes shy eating around people.. .... . she probably eats alot at home.... or its probably genetic....

Her body is in starvation mode.
Any thing she eats goes directly the body cells to be stored as fat, to feed the body.

There's a few possibilities.

1) She may have a super slow metabolism. This could be natural or the result of previous crash dieting. Her body would then store anything she eats as body fat because it thinks there's a famine.

2) She only eats in secret, such as raiding the refrigerator in the middle of the night.

3) A combination of the above two.

Believe it or not, you have to EAT to lose weight. It's true. Eat too little and you go into starvation mode and your metbolism is nill. Those who have wrecked their metabolism need to eat 1200 calories a day. Initially they will gain, but after 2-6 weeks their body will realize there is no femine going on and will begin losing weight.

It's proven that it's harder to lose weight if you don't eat; your metabolism slows down, making the process of burning fat much more slow and inefficient.
