Questions about atkins........?!

Question: ok, so a friend of mine suggested I try Atkins, I tried a herbal supplement last month for my uterus issue and I gained 25 pounds. I have heard that in the first two week induction you can lose weight since so many carbs are cut out. But I've read in Atkins books that after the 2 week induction Atkins should be a way of life, you can introduce carbs back, but they should be whole wheat (bread, pasta etc....)

The thing is that I personally have mixed feelings about it. I have in the past once tried where I did not eat after 6pm and was physically active in the morning and night and I saw good results.......I think that eating good food, with carbs or not and being active and drinking alot of water (which I do) is the best way to go..............

what do you think???
is Atkins good or the old fashioned way of losing weight.

Stick to the old fashioned way. Carbs are NOT bad. Ignore people who say that.
40% of what we eat should be carbs and cutting down has been proven to play havok with your arteries. The reason some say to avoid them is that if you cut them out you trick your body into eating into its fat supplies because since carbs are the main food source of energy, it thinks its not being fed. You lose weight but it's dangerous, and very temporary so as soon as you eat them again the weight comes straight back. Unless you're willing to live a life devoid of fresh bread, hot pasta and steaming potatos I would not even consider cutting them out. It's just not good for you. Dieting should be about health, not just weight loss.

The old fashioned way.
My mum got high cholestoral from a few weeks of being on Atkins, people have fainted and even died on being on Atkins.
Atkins should not be a way of life.

The Atkins Low Carb Diet is based on eating very few carbs, and this is especially true during "Phase 1". We believe that it's one of the strictest low carb diets on the market, especially during "Phase 1".

There is no mistaking this program for anything other than a very strict low carb plan, since it only allows 80 carb calories per day during the first phase (20 grams of net carbs is approximately 80 carb calories per day)........and that's less carbs than you'll find in a large apple, since even a large apple has slightly more carbs than that.

Phase 1 of the Atkins Diet is now listed as 'optional' -- but even if Phase 1 is skipped we still believe that the overall carb limitations make it a very strict low carb diet.

This program is probably not for the faint of heart, since only truly committed dieters will probably be able to withstand Phase 1 of this program.

so i tried fat loss 4 idiots it gave me better results after struggling with atkins and south diet and got better results click here to read how that diet accelarator works : http://fatloss4idiots.com/?hop=webpros21

Low carb diets work.

Things like the Ketogenic diet, anabolic diet that BODYBUILDERS and ATHLETES use to get into shape have been proven to burn fat along with regular weight training and exercise than any other diet.

99/100 people will FAIL at low carb diets because they don't have the mental discipline to survive the first 2 weeks. of low carbs

And apparently your misunderstanding atkins.

The first 2 weeks, your carbs come from mainly from veggies.

After 2 weeks, during week days you still eat low carbs. But on weekends you can have a high carb diet to replenish carb stores.

Low carb diets are extremely effective for weight loss due to the fact that they stabilize insulin levels, decrease hunger, and since your body is low on carbs you will be burning fat for fuel.
carbs aren't required for fuel

People who say "40% of food should be carbs or youll die" are freakin idiots.
