What type of food should we take to prevent or aid hair loss?!


Question: I had the same problem a few years back and a good amount of research and good advice helped me. Let me share those with you:
1) protien is the key- spinach, fish, yogurt. but a balanced diet is more important good mix of carbs 60%, fats10% and protien30%.
2)also a multi vit with biotin, silica, zinc, magnesuim has helped me a lot. there is one sold at GNC which I take and it really has made my hair healthier.
3) also i found i had a iron deficiency so started taking iron meds (do not self medicate with iron suplements can b toxic get a simple blood test to find out first).
You could experiment with these solutions. But do not expect immediate results. It takes a while for results to show- took me 8 months to see good results- hair on my head and not the bathroom floor (i exercise everyday and eat healthy). Also these changes will not change the condition of your present hair but any hair that you grow after making these changes. so when i found this out last month i actually went bold and cut off all my hair (from waist length to bob) and decided to start with good foundations- healthy hair that looks and feels good.
My suggestions-
exercise and eat healthy,

get a simple blood test to check for deficiencies -pls do not self medicate with iron suplements!
Imp: have patience.
But sometimes causes could be just hormonal-
temporary (pregnancy, menopause, etc related) or
hereditary (androgenetic) and you know there is no permanent fix for hereditary probs. there is a drug called rogaine that works but not permanently and is not without side effects.

Water.

The BEST supplement for hair growth is Vitamin E!!!!

water really doesnt do sh!t for you

Eat foods with high amounts of calcium. Milk,cheese,dairy products,yogurt,etc. Protein foods as well but calcium is the key word here. Good luck!!

Vitamin B (Biotin) is great.
You should also eat foods that contain fatty proteins, such as almonds and avocadoes. Fatty proteins promote healthy, strong hair and hair growth.
