Have esteem problems. How can I lose weight without leaving the house?!

Question: Hi. I am 16, and 6ft, and weig around 240 pounds. I am desperate to lose weight, as I think it will help me gain confidence. My problem is, that for the past year, I've had major problems when going out. I am scared of going out and people seeing me, I'm scared to join a gym because I live in a bad area, and know that there will be ******** teenagers there. I am paranoid that everyone that I do walk past is judging me when they look at me.

So, is there anyway that I can lose weight in the house alone. Dieting and drinking water is easy for me, it is just exercise. All I have are light weights and nothing help. Please help

Thanks

You can do a lot of different exercise without leaving the house. Well it kind of depends on how small your room is and how sturdy the floor is (can you jump without disturbing your neighbors downstairs?). Jump rope is great for weight loss. Jogging in place for 30 minutes is just as good as treadmill. Situps, crunches, pushups - those are all great for toning and conditioning, and they don't cost you a penny.
Most importantly - stop eating in the eveings. Only drink water after 7 pm and before you go to sleep.

You have many options:

1) Go to a gym not in your neighborhood and where people you know what see you.
2) Eat right and you will lose weight quickly. Maybe walk around the block. Get light weights and find some stuff on the internet.

Most people at the gym don't judge. It is kind of hard to judge someone who is fat who goes to the gym. You are trying to make yourself healthy so go out there and do it.

BTW everyone can be judged. Don't take it too much to heart because no one is perfect. You can say at least 10 bad things about anyone.

hey-
yes people will be looking at you go out
and they'll be looking at you even more 6 months down the track when you walk past them looking like a supermodel.
is there another gym, further away from your area?
if so, try and go there?
if not, can you afford a treadmill, a stationary bike or cross trainer (elliptical machine)? you can buy really cheap ones in the classifieds or garage sales. i think that would be your best bet. can you save up, or ask a parent or do something to make that money? it will be worthwile. all you need to do is find a way to do cardio around your house. so try that one first, i think - when you are more comfortable with your body you can go out and join a gym in a better area .
have you got a dog? walk it, play with it.
have you got stairs? run up and down them.
you have the internet? download aerobics, workout videos. there are loads on the internet. even on youtube, im sure.
there is loads you can do around the house, like vacuuming, ironing, mowing the lawn, cleaning your room that burn calories.

anyway, hope this has helped - if you want someone to talk to let me know!

take a jump rope and start jumping. you will start sweating and its really good for you. try running around your house endlessly until u r sweating and cant move anymore
