Anorexia and starving?!


Question: This is just a question that is always bugging me.
people say the less you eat,the more weight you put on,because of slowly down your motabalism.then explain how...for example emo's(hate to get steriotypical here) are so thin?a lot of them eat but only rarely so how come when they DO eat they dont put on a lot of weight?

This tends to be true however this is seriously not healthy and by doing this you are seriously damaging your health. this happens because they starve their bodies sooo much that when they do eat, which is only ever minute portions, they are just keeping their bodies going. I don't know why your asking this but seriously do not do this!!!

Because of you don't eat or hardly eat at all, your body starts eating off its fat stores. Right before you starve to death, your body starts to eat itself.

Please take the time to read this if it is you that is struggling from anorexia and starving and dont want to admit it its okay but there are plenty of people unhappy with their weight and dont know how to loose it, i've been unhappy with my weight too but i went about it smart and have lost 30 pounds in 5 months. dont be discouraged,but what you are doing is killing your body and also you WILL NOT LOOSE WEIGHT, you need to stop immediately. They check people into hospitals for that and it is a disease.
The main thing you should know is if you try to loose weight that way, the second you put a morsil of food in your mouth you will gain all the weight back plus some because your body will have been starved for so long.

DONT GIVE UP, but be healthy about it. IF you just dont eat or do not eat atleast 1300 calories a day, your body starts freaking out and thinking your starving so it holds on to all the fat in your body in order to survive, and you end up becoming frusterated wondering why am i not loosing any weight, just feeling yucky. Then if you actually stick on to that routine of not eating for a few months you start to loose weight, but its your muscle you are loosing, your body is starving with no food so it starts to eat your muscles, and by this time your body attitude has changed and your addicted to not eating. Than due to lack of calcium your teeth start to turn brown and eventually break in half or fall out, but i guess thats good since you dont need them for eating anyways! Also you will loose your hair, this is not a lifestyle please dont continue on it. I've had personal experience wtih weight loss and i concured it, you can too but you HAVE TO EAT!

To eat healthy, First thing first, if you love soda, Try to see it for what it is, read the back of the can its nothing but added flavors, fat, sugar, and it tears at your stomach. I drink only water, and i do sit ups every night.

You have to lower your calorie intake in order to loose weight,and by that i dont mean down to like 200, you need atleast 1300 a day. Slimfast is a great resource the website is free and you can enter piece of food you eaten and see how much fat you've consumed and how many calories.

I was overweight, My face got so huge and i felt like all of the rest of me did too, i found out how to eat healthy and stuck to and i've lost around 30 pounds by doing that.

Cut out all sugar/junk food/ cookies and all. Eat every 3 hours. Like at 6 i wake up and have all fruit for breakfast and than at 9 i have a snack of raw fruits or vegetables, at 12 i eat a slimfast bar and half a turkey sandwhich or something, at 3 i have another snack of vegetables or a fruit, and for dinner i have meats like chicken with no skin, or fish that has not been fried with half a plate of vegetables. Raw veggies are better than cooked actually because they loose nutrients when they are cooked.
Plus you gotta excersize, even if its 30 minutes a day, if you have ON DEMAND like on your tv, they have free excersize videos you can do, thats what i do. I also got into yoga, 5 months later i went from a size 12-13 to a 4-5, and i was at 156, now i'm at 126, and i'm 5'6 tall.

emo's ? what ? Why be anorexic ?just eat at least 1200 cals and burn off 400

because they are eating less calories then they are burning. and yes everything they do eat will be stored more than you or i, but they eat so little that even with that fact they are still eating way less then they should be.

I think this may be due to emotional stress. Stress, both physical and emotional, can drain the body, using up more energy, thus burning more body weight. This also explains why so called "emos" sometimes seem tired and listless.
By the by, thank you for your maturity in not discriminating.

are you talking about breakfast?
thats not really true, because i hardly ever eat breakfast and my brother doesn't either and he's real thin,
but i guess because through out the day some men or women tend to eat lots of snacks, because they didn't have breakfast
ugh i LOVE to eat but i hardly do it anymore :( so I've noticed I've lost some weigh, but thats a plus, no? but still i have my gut :) to lazy to even try to work it off,

Well the body can adjust itself only for a short time to maintain its weight, if you don't eat for months of course it will start burning its own fat and muscles to keep you going. what they mean when they say that you put on weight when you (i don't mean YOU :) ) starve is that usually a normal person can't starve for too long and will start eating very soon properly, so when you actually do start eating your body will think: "aha, food is coming now but it might disappear tomorrow again so i better stock up on it now", and voile you have gained more than you have lost while you were starving yourself.
Also when you starve you loose not only fat but muscles too, once you start eating properly again, you just gain fat. but the more muscles you have the faster your metabolism is. so now, after starvation is over and food is coming in again, you are not only fatter but also your metabolism is slower and you are much less toned.
