Breakfast: is it enough?!


Question: I'm trying to become more conscious about what I eat.

This morning:

3 bananas
A big glass of milk
Bottle of water
2 white eggs (no yolk)

Is it enough to get me started for the day? If not, what am I missing?

Taking a healthy breakfast is the best way to start your day .Breakfast helps you to prime the rest of the day as well as your long term health goals. Your food components for breakfast should be foods of low glycemic index.

You should select the meals that fit in your lifestyle and taste but certain principles could help you to do this.

A good breakfast will generally have various foods. These foods are meant to provide you with energy, vitamins and all the nutrients you need during the day and also delay hunger for several hours.
2 white eggs and a glass of milk are ok for proteins and calcium but you are missing a good source of complex carbohydrates such as whole grain bread, oats, low fat muffins etc. You also need a source of some fat to maintain good health and balanced nutrition. You may want to reduce the bananas to one. 3 bananas are far too many in the morning. A ripe banana has a high glycemic index and 3 will give you a spike in glucose and may not be good in the long run. They may cause you to add unnnecessary weight.Eat ripe bananas in moderation if you want to control your weight.

The quantities of the various food components that you eat for breakfast will however depend on your age, height and weight.Teen boys will consume more calories than teen girls and adults.

That is plenty for breakfast..but for serious, you don't need 3 bananas... you need more variety.. maybe type a peice of toast with peanut butter in the place of two banannas.

yeah thats enough but instead of eating 3 bananas eat only 1 and eat yogurt or a healthy cereal.......like the person above me said you need more variety.

My goodness 3 bananas? That is a lot lol a half makes me full. But hey what ever works. It is healthy by all means but if you want something more balanced try having like an english muffin toasted or some toast with peanut butter and honey with the bananas on that. (yummy=) A big glass of milk is good for them bones and of course water is your best choice! If you dont want toast with peanut butter and stuff like that have an enlgish muffin with a tiny bit of butter and then but your egg whites on the it like a sandwich and if you want add some tomotatos or cheese and salsa to it. Get creative breakfast is my favorite meal of the day!
