Exercise buffs???I need your advice..?!


Question: I joined a gym in December and really enjoy it..I've been doing cardio and strength training. I'm wondering at my age(56) if I should waste time strength training and just stick with daily cardio?? My cardio usually lasts about 40 minutes. Do you think the strength training is a waste of time for a woman my age???

It is absolutely not a waste of time! As a woman married to a Marine and surrounded by a fit lifestyle I have seen firsthand young and older the benefits of working out. Both cardio and resistance are beneficial. For starter you need both and the weight training will prevent and reverse bone loss as you age. Its been proven to increase bone mass in females. As my husband always espouses. "The human body is the only machine that the harder you work it, the better it performs." Good Luck.
