Bodybuilding nutritional question?!
Question: What are the best carbohydrates to consume if trying to put on lean muscle and while simutaniusly(sp?) trying to shed a few pounds of fat? I know all about complex and simple carbs, I was just wondering what some specific foods were that would be good carbs. Thanks

Honestly, remove all potatoes, rice, and refined wheat from your diet (this includes pasta). Whole-grain bread is ok in very small quantities (2-4 slices per day max, and with high fiber).
Instead of meat and starch, have meat and a big stack of veggies.
This worked immensely for me. (Coming from Texas, it was hard for me to get over the meat-n-taters attitude, but it really works).

Potatoes are a good source of carbs as well as pasta. I am not a body builder, but did date one once years and years ago and he was heavy into the pasta and potatoes...and sometimes bread, but not as much as the pasta and taters.
List of good carbs: (low glycemic index)
1. Fruits and Vegetables
2. Whole Grains
3. Sweet Potatoes
If you have to eat carbs with a high glycemic index, you can lower their GI value by eating them with LGI foods and or high protien foods.
