When lifting weights, are you supposed to exhale when bringing the weights back !

Question: Normally, you exhale while pushing the weights up, and inhale while lowering them down. The reason for this is that the muscles contract while you are lifting and when exhaling, and your muscles relax when lowering weights and inhaling. If you do the lifting and breathing out of synch, it raises your blood pressure and reduces the volume of air exchange.

inhale when you bring the weights down, exhale when you're pushing the weights, its much easier to breathe on the way down than it is when you're pushing

Depends from the movement/muscle groups. Typically, you exhale when pushing weight (doing the job) and inhale when going back to the start position. There are some variations.
