Is Chinese food bad if you're on a diet?!

Question: I know it's not the healthiest food. I have been on a diet but today we just had to order take out because there wasn't time to cook. I didn't eat the whole thing. I only ate half. On calorieking it says one medium plate of fried rice is 770 calories and a large plate is 1000 calories. I don't know if it was a medium or large serving so I averaged my calories to 450. Is that alright? I won't be eating this stuff all the time. But today I had to. Is chinese food really bad for you? I stayed within my calories for today by only eating half..but will it mess up my diet? I drink a lot of water to help flush out the sodium..

If you limit the fried foods and concentrate on the dishes with lots of veggies it should be ok.

So stay away from the deep fried stuff & eat roasted or steamed or wokked stuff.

Stay away from the fried rice and the sugar-sauced chicken balls & instead have wokked chicken, mushrooms, vegetables & cashews with a little steamed rice or boiled rice noodles.

Chinese food is only bad for you if you eat a lot of the fried & starchy stuff (that the Chinese themselves don't really eat much of).

It can also be bad for you if they put MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) in it - as that has been shown to cause cancer.

Don't obsess about calories, at the end of the day all you will do is lose sleep debating whether you went over the limit or not. Think about it portion wise, if you had a moderate amount which means enough to give you your fill, then don't worry. Its only when you sit down and continuously eat and eat that you need to start questioning your last meal.

Not at all if you select carefully and don't overload your plate. Stick with the vegetable based selections. Avoid all the fried stuff, especially the rice. Avoid that noodle stuff. Start the meal with a bowl of soup.

You can't average 770 and 1000 and come out with 450, it would have to be between 770 and 1000, which is around 885.

That other guy is right, don't obsess. No one is perfect and we all mess up our diets. Its just life. Move away from it and get on with doing the right thing with your next meal.

i eat chinese food all the time and i have abdominal muscles and is 3/5 on bmi scale of "average weight"

Since I started to work out I was looking for a good weight loss product (I only wanted something 100% natural). I was on a diet but I felt that I needed a little "help" so I decided to try this great detoxification colon cleanse and I had fantastic results. You can check their website at
http://fit-thin.info , they give you a free trial and you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss (it's actually a colon cleanse) and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it (it's 100% natural). The results were excellent. I lost about 20 pounds in 2 months with this detox. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://trim-get.info where they have a free trial and you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!
