Edge on Raceday, need quick answers race is tomorrow?!


Question: Well i have started going through carbohydrate loading, i just stretched for 45 minutes. Ive drink about 4 litres of watere. Is there anything else i can do tommoro to give me the edge in my race. Im coming about 2nd or 3rd now, but i want to know if there is anything else i can do to get me first.


Answers: Well i have started going through carbohydrate loading, i just stretched for 45 minutes. Ive drink about 4 litres of watere. What kind of race is it? If it is a short distance race, I wouldtell you not to overload on the carbs the night before the race. It can make you feel bloated and heavy the next day. Eat enough to keep your glycogen levels full, but not to spike your insulin levels too high and it will make you crash after it comes down.

If it is a slow endurance race, than I would go with the advice of the previous post about eating oats and other whole grains. These will breakdown gradually and not send your insulin and glycogen levels on a roller coaster.

Eat nuts and berries, they are packed with energy and will give you a real boost. Also, eat oats for breakfast, the slow release energy will help to keep your stamina. Good luck x
