The best benefit of cardio is it keeps you healthy; it lowers your blood pressure, lowers bad LDL cholesterol, lowers blood triglyceride levels, keeps your metabolism higher, and dozens of other health benefits.

But if you specifically wanted to know the benefit of cardiovascular ENDURANCE.. you can do physical activity longer and more comfortably. You can measure your endurance by seeing how fast you can run a mile, or by seeing how many miles you can run.

Benefits of muscular strength... well you can lift heavier objects. Realistically, there isn't much of a need for having big muscles in terms of function in today's society. It really dosen't matter if I can bench press 300 lbs, does it? I don't remember the last time I really had to push a giant rock off my chest.

The benefits are you can do activities you want to do without feeling super tired. Things like playing with kids or carrying groceries or dancing, hiking, skiing etc. is a lot more fun when you're not puffing or falling behind.

Of course there are the heath benefits listed above and you look younger longer.
