Daily Cardio?!

Question: Is it bad for my body to do cardio daily? I know I'm not supposed to do strength training on the same body parts every day because the muscle needs time to rebuild, but I feel antsy and irritable if i don't get a good cardio work out in during the day.

I'm like that most days as well.

There's nothing wrong with doing cardio everyday provided that you are replacing the electrolytes that you lose from sweating and your nutrition is good.

You can also try High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) which really can do a number on you if you're feeling antsy!

This is where you warm-up for 5mins then go as hard as you can for a minute then slow down for a couple of minutes and then go as hard as you can again etc...

After 45 minutes of that you'll feel great but you'll also feel like your body got a good kick in the butt!

You wouldn't want to do this everyday because it does require recovery time as opposed to low intensity cardio but it very well may curb those daily antsy feelings while allowing you an extra couple of days off from cardio throughout the week.

you'd also want to be sure that you don't push yourself too much on the same day that you strength-train your legs as well as the day after.

As long as you eat enough to replinish what your body uses, I don't see a problem with it.

It's OK to do cardio every day. Just cap it at 40 minutes per session -- any more than that and you risk burning muscle instead of fat.

yeah, u can do cardio daily. infact, i do it daily too.

Absolutely not. There's no reason to limit your cardio. If you only do the bike, you may find your legs become sore, I suppose. Mix up the types you do if that occurs.

Also, it's a good idea to lift weights and then do cardio... not the other way around. There are a number of benefits to doing it that way. Yes, you CAN do both in the same day, and there's no reason not to.
