Food pyramid?!

Question: People have been telling me to follow the food pyramid but when i look at it, it shows things that many people don't eat every day, and dare i say the food pyramid isn't very practical. How is it even possible to eat all this in one day? Does anybody agree? And if you don't please enlighten me and show me how to shove all this in 6-7 small meals.

* 3 servings of milk (or lactose-reduced milk), cheese, and yogurt
* 2 servings of high protein foods like lean meat, poultry, fish, eggs, legumes, and nuts
* 3 servings of vegetables
* 2 servings of fruit
* 6 servings of grains
* 8 servings of water

keep in mind that most servings are about 1/2 cup so it is not so hard to fit all that in and it is guidelines only, not written in stone. follows is an example of a daily meal plan that includes all or nearly all the requirements.
Breakfast: bran flakes and milk, orange juice, you got 1 fruit, 1 milk and 1 whole grain
lunch: McDonald's Asian salad with 3oz grilled chicken breast. lo fat yogurt. You just got 2 veg requirement, one serving of lean protein and another milk serving
Snack; Apple and glass of skim milk= 11 more milk serving and another fruit.
supper: Tuna casserole with whole grain pasta, 3 oz tuna, peas. green beans
you are only missing a serving or 2 of whole grain and tomorrow you would eat differently and probably have more whole grain and less veg.
it is only 4 meals but you could add a bedtime snack of whole grain bread and peanut butter or something like that. Most folks eat too large portion of things and remember, a portion is 1/2 cup.

its really not that difficult,
you have your a serving of grains as cereal with a serving of dairy as milk for breakfast
as a snack you have sliced fruit topped with yogurt
lunch is meat served with some kind of veg and a carb e.g bread, pasta, potato (2 servings grain)
snack on another piece of fruit
snack on a cereal bar (grain)
dinner is meat with 2 veg and another carb (2 grains)
snack on yogurt

and drink water throughout the day
