For dehydration, what can you add to your water to help & what amounts, Thank Yo!

Question: gatorade helps it already has what you need in it.

Answers: gatorade helps it already has what you need in it.

I would think that water should be your best bet really. But sport drinks actually use salt to rehydrate. Not sure of the amounts.

Sugar and salt, making it an oral rehydration solution.
"Add to one litre of safe water:

* Salt 1/2 small spoon (3.5 grams)
* Sugar 4 big spoons (40 grams)"
I'd avoid this, though. It's so ridiculously disgusting.
Try Gatorade or any energy drink designed to restore electrolytes to the body.

you can add sugar to your water and drink a lot of juice.

^^ thats a lot of salt...

Gatorade, per litre contains just 0.47 grams of sodium (salt) and 0.23 grams of potassium.
It does, however, contain a bit of sugars - 46 grams of sucrose and 18 grams of glucose.

However, (this was on myth busters) only after strenuous exercise are sports drinks beneficial. Light exercise, both water and gatorade were absorbed equally by the body.
