What is\are pilates?!

Question: It's a low-impact form of exercise that concentrates on stretching and strengthening your muscles through a sequence of flowing movements. During this form of exercise, you are to concentrate on your breathing (in through the nose and out through the mouth) and stabilize your core (abdominal area).
Some people compare it to yoga, but as one who practices both, I think they are really quite different. Yoga works on your strength and flexibility through holding poses for extended periods of time (it has flow to it, but not like Pilates). The breathing is different as well - in and out through the nose.
I hope that helps!

A big exercise ball that you play with inspired by a person named Pilate (Gee, didn't know it was a Biblical thing!) Pilates are the exercises and methods. Supposed to stretch you and tone your body, mostly for women, guys tend to pop the ball.

It is a type of exercise method that uses the mind to control the muscles. Here's the Wikipedia page for more information:

Another gimmick used to extract the funds from over weight individuals that can't limit their food intake.......

Siliar to yoga, in that it focuses on controlled breathing techniques to help control muscle function. IT is a low impact exercise that helps tone core muscles, mostly in the abdomin and back areas.
