i gotta be honest with you.
"they" say that cigarettes are comparably as addictive as heroin and perhaps even more so. but transference isn't the answer either- especially when it can be towards a dangerous habit like smoking.

i smoked for 10 years when i was much younger and i finally quit in 2005. if you are really serious about quitting- and i mean really serious about it, go take a look at the cancer wards. the hacking and gagging drowns out the need for a smoke pretty quickly.

me? my motivation was simple... it was $8 (USD) a pack when i moved up north from the southern united states! i mean, really! $8/pack to smoke? had to call it "quits".

Yes. I am 26 and have been smoking since 14. I hate it. I wish I never started. Every time I try to quit I gain weight because I do the opposite of what you're doing. If you're young or only have a few years or months into smoking...quit now before the addiction becomes too severe. The older you get and the longer you smoke the more difficult it becomes to quit.

Substitute your craving for food and cigarettes with a craving for God.

If you want to talk about it...just say.

well that just sucks.. ummm smoking if a way to just cool your self down. Um if you want to fix it you should try and fix the eating problem first( if that makes sence)

Yea that happened to me even though im 15 which really isnt good ive stopped smoking now and my eating is sort of under control so yea i do sympathise with you but yout probably an adult so it's harder for adults to stop smoking of course because your actully allowed to do it.

Yes, I hear you loud and clear on this one, I'm in the same boat as you.

Many people wouldnt agree with me, but i feel that obesity is worse than smoking.
I feel so much more confident with a cigarette in my hand instead of a burger.

Yes. Millions of people have the same experience. Not sure which addiction is worse.

Aye,.............. but now your lungs are clear to work properly, now's the time to get out and about, and get some exercise, like cycling, hill walking, or just plain jogging.

It will help to take your mind off cigs and food, and will help to burn off the extra calories.

I did the opposite ,and gained two stone, there is no fun in life anymore without my cigs ( That was 20 years ago and I still want one! ) Was thnking of going on nicotine patches to lose weight again.
