What's the best way for me to lose 10lbs the right way?!


Question: i'm 5'7 & 134 lbs.

First I think that our weight is fine. PLUS it's not about weight, it's about BMI and body fat percentage.

But if you want to start losing fat or "weight" then your gonna have to do a couple of things...

1. Play with your diet. Eat enough carbs to cover your energy expenditure, at cut the fat down to about 15-20% of your total calories for the day.

2. Increase your consistency to cardio and or increase the length of time you go and the intensity.

3. Start a good circuit weight training regiment.

The most important thing you can do is to make sure that you strengthen and tone (or make more dense) the muscle you have. This will sky rocket your metabolism which will burn up calories everyday all day on a regular basis.

Some exercises would be dumb bell bench press, squats, lat pull downs, sit ups (or crunches), leg curls, arm curls, and tricep push down just to name a few. I would do all of those in a circuit (without rest) about 4 times through.

Also try only eating enough carbs to cover what you do for the day...but don't go "low carb" on me....Just don't over eat them either.

Take a rest between sets. Then get back to it.

You don't need to lose weight. I'm 5'7" and you are pretty much at my goal weight.

The right way to lose weight is by making lifestyle changes, whatever YOU can live with - low-carb, low-fat, low-calorie - whatever can be a lifestyle change for you.

Here's the trick, and it sounds too simple, but it actually works. ONLY eat when you are hungry. Lots of people think hungry means when you want food, you want a good taste i your mouth, no. Only eat when you actually feel that your stomach needs food, then stop eating when it is satisfied, don't keep eating til you are bloated. You'll be surprised how little you need to eat in a day and still not feel hungry

Park the car and walk everywhere.... There was a time when I didn't have a reliable vehicle, and had to walk 2 miles to work, and back, and do all my shopping, etc on foot as well, I was downright skinny in those days...now that gas has gone so high, I look forward to dropping a couple pounds, because I'm walking a lot more these days, too...
I have to agree with Peaches, though...your weight is fine for your height...There's way too much obsession on tv and magazines over unrealistic images of feminine beauty. That is not the reality, it's some corporation trying to make young women feel like they're not enough unless they are rail thin to fit into clothes that wouldn't fit a healthy five year old...

losing 10 pnds really fast isnt healthy however...the cardiac diet is great. Its healthier than most and the food isnt bad either. Its a chemical breakdown diet that takes only 3 days. You are suppose to lose 10pnds in that time.

Well, the right way is to not over eat and exercise. But a fast way to drop about 10 pounds is to cut out the sugar. No soda, no candy, or cookies. No sugar. You have to read labels. There is sugar in a lot of foods you wouldn't expect.

Go for a 20 minute jog every morning, eat fewer carbs and fatty foods. Don't snack, eat only at mealtimes.
If you want to lose some wait around your torso, do 15 minutes of crunches, etc, immediately following you jog. This way, you'll gain some physique as you loose some weight!
