Is Dance Dance Revolution an efficient way to exercise?!


Question: I have been playing it everyday for the past two weeks. I'm really good. ( I can do two 10-footer songs: Sakura & Bag ) Is it an efficient way to lose weight? If not, are there any other fitness games that are compatible on Wii, PS2, or Gamecube?

Yeah, good cardio workout.
Try doing the workout mode on DDR, the one where you put your weight and height.
It'll tell you everytime after your done with a song how much calories you burned and how much you ran.

But normally if you play for 1-3 hours (which is pretty impressive)
You have a chance of burning like 1000 calories.

If it gets your heart rate up and makes you sweat. Could not hurt. Might wanna start some strength training to augment it.

Absolutely! That's a good amount of cardio! Anytime you get your heart rate up and keep it up for an extended period of time is better than not! If this is what works for you then GREAT! Keep with it, good luck, and HAVE FUN!
If you enjoy a work out your are SO much more likely to stick with it, no matter how unique the workout is!
I googled it and came up with GOBS of info on it. This is one of the MANY sites there.

its really good exercise as long as you're on medium or hard level (hard's better). i love DDR!!!! it is efficient and fun so you stay motivated to exercise.
