If you overwork your muscles, you will get unbearably sore and be out of commission for weeks at a time. Many people make the mistake of over pushing there body, this is something you do not want to do. If you stress your body too much when you are younger, you will have a lot of problems when you are older, plus no results.

Every other day is better because it gives your muscles time to rest.

You'll build muscle either way - it's whether or not you want it to go faster.

Taking a break for a few days a week is best if you want quicker results.

I worked out for four years and my trainer told me one day of work for one day of rest. Don't forget the important stretches. They really help the muscles to grow.

You should wait at least 72 hours between each time you work each muscle group. Your muscles grow when they heal so you have to give them time to heal. You could work out every day if you split up the muscles you work out. You could work out legs on day 1, work out arms on day 2, then legs on day 3, and arms again on day 4. Give yourself more time when you start lifting b/c it'll take a little longer to recover. You only need to work out each muscle 2-3 times a week, no more often

Bodybuilders do go every day, but they stagger what they work. Day 1 is shoulders, chest and biceps and triceps.
Day 2 is legs, stomach, etc.
You want to give your body at least 24 hrs. before working the same area so that your muscles get the full benefit of healing.
I like to go every day, but I try and stagger or at LEAST wait 24 hours.

Pro body builders dont all do it, but, they can work much harder and have faster recovery time's do to AAS. (roids) and yes..all pro's use..its an untested sport. Go with 3 days for now...you gotta recover.

MONDAY: LEGS
TUESDAY: CHEST
WEDNESDAY: BACK
THURSDAY: SHOULDERS
FRIDAY: TRICEPS & BICEPS

Work abs 2-3 times per week.

you could do strength training one day and aerobic the next day. that way you would use different muscles each day,
