Does lifting light weights help you lose weight?!

Question: yes, it helps you burn more body fat than cardio alone.

Answers: yes, it helps you burn more body fat than cardio alone.

yes, some say it's better than heavy weight

it could but you might actually gain weight but good weight because lifting weights build muscle and muscle mass weighs more than fat

Yes and no - lifting weights will cause an increased energy demand and can lead to weight loss. However, lifting weights can also build muscle and muscle weighs more than fat

it helps you burn fat and build muscle....initially you might lose weight, but if you overdo it you'll gain weight because muscle is heavier than fat.

it does, but then if you start doing it too often you will look buff.

yeah if you do it a lot it will help to boost your metabolism.

I think it's annoying how people say that muscle weighs more than fat. It doesn't 11lb of fat is the same as 1lb of muscle. The thing is that fat takes up more space. Muscle is more dense and concentrated. When talking in volume muscle weighs more than fat..kind of like the pound of feathers and a pound of lead. Feathers take up more space which is like the fat, but they are still equal amount of weight. Lifting weights helps you lose weight because muscle burns more calories than fat does.
