Question: i need to lose about 15 pounds within 3 months. mostly my stomach. and i am trying to form a six pack.

i have been doing a set i found in Seventeen magazine for about 3 weeks now and the results are really showing!
ill try to explain the exercises

1) Get into plank position on the floor (like you are going to do pushups), contract/tighten your abs, and bring your left leg up to your chest. bring it back to where it started, then repeat with the right leg. do this 60 times (30 on each leg)

2)get into this position

except you don't have to lift you leg, just have both on the ground. stay like that for 30 seconds, then go onto your other arm and repeat.

3) do 60 side-crunches, alternating sides - right, left, right, left .

4)lie on your back, lift up your arms and legs so they are all pointing straight up.
keeping your abs tight, bring your left arm and right leg to the floor at the same time. bring them back up to starting position, then do the same with your right arm and left leg. repeat 60 times (30 each side)

5)this is like #4, but without using your arms. hold your hands underneath your butt to support yourself and just bring down your left leg straightened to the floor, then right (60 times total)

6)lie on your back with your hands under your butt and try not to arch your back.
lift your legs about 6 inches from the floor, and bring your legs out so they form a wide V. bring them back to the middle and cross them. bring them back to the V, and cross them in the middle, but this time, cross the opposite leg on top. do this 60 times total. (when you get to around 45 or 50 it gets really hard, for me at least, but finishing feels so good!)


as for your diet, don't try any fad ones - the weight just comes right back on. i don't know how many calories you should consume, but try using this to figure out:

eat a balanced diet and keep healthy,low calorie snacks like fruits and veggies around to munch on if you get cravings.

Work out at the gym as much as possible and eat healthly. Whenever you are sitting around doing nothing go for a run or do so weight lifting. Also do could start club sports like: basebal; basketball; softball; vollyball; soccer; hockey.

A six pack is made in the kitchen. You need to develop a clean eating plan and stick to it religously. Google clean eating and that will get you started or pick up a book like the Abs Diet form MensHealth.
Make sure you are exercising regularly and that you are eating clean and the six pack will come. Diet is the paramount step in obtaining a six pack, unless you have freakish genes.
