Im 5'7, 185 pounds, I want to lose 20 by....Please Read!?!


Question: How fast can i lose it, i really want to be down to at least 160-165. I know thats still almost over weight but i know my frame and body type, i looked my best at that weight. My bday is May the 6? Is it possible for me to loose 25 pounds by then. I know anything is possible but just would like some suggestions please. I just joined a gym to day and i did 45 minutes of cardio. Please help! Have a outfit wanna wear !!!!

I have lost 7lbs in the past week(Water weight of course) but I am doing it the healthy way. Here is my diet:
Slim fast shake in the morning
snack(fruit or a granola bar usually)
Sandwich on wheat usually turkey and cheese
snack in the afternoon(fruit/veggies/if im craving something else I will have a SMALL portion of it)
Then for dinner, I eat fish and veggies, or a hamburger(lean beef) with cottage cheese and a salad with fat free salad dressing and an egg.

This is really working for me. Plus I work out 30-45 minutes a day on my elliptical trainer and I am already seeing results. When I started the scale said 183..now the scale says 173, and i am even MORE motivated.
So basically just cut out sugars(aka desserts) refined breads(anything white) soda, and ultimately fast food! good luck with that outfit!

maybe cut down on junk altogther and to do more exercise.

honestly the best thing is to just play sports, cardio stuff are soo boring it's like a chore. Just pick a sport you like to play and play it with your friends.

Watch your calories.

Find a website that calculates how many calories you use a day. You have to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound. So, say you use 1600 calories. Only eat 1300 calories and you'd lose a pound every 2 weeks.

First of all, you need to find a diet you'd like to do. Whether its low carb, low fat, or low calorie.. And it doesn't matter which one of these it is, you need to eat REAL, WHOLE foods! DO NOT buy those crazy pre-packaged diet foods like bars and such. They are bad for you in the long run and only cause more cravings.

Second, get into an exercise routine (or like a previous poster said, a sport) that you actually enjoy doing. I found that I really do enjoy walking and lifting weights because after the workout, I feel so refreshed and have energy. Its mostly about what works for YOU so you gotta find it!
