Am I Too Skinny For My Height?!


Question: Im 5'8 or 5'9 and weigh 55 kgs.

Im always being told how skinny i am. But lately on school camp wen i was wearing a bikini people were starting to comment on me about being way too skinny for my height and age. Im 16.

Please help do i sound to skinny.

hey you're not TOO skinny, you're just a little bit.

I looked up yours and you're about 18.3 so you're on the heavy side of underweight, but on the light side of normal.

if you decide do gain weight, do it by eating healthy. protein, veggies, dont just simply take in calories.

You do sounds thin, IF you are eating properly however there is nothing to worry about. You most likely just have a fast motabilism, and they are jelous :)

ya that weight n height are abvio not compatible!ur weighing quite a less than vat shud b abt for you.buy if ur diet is ok then mayb ur skinny due to body metabolism.tha means that no matter how much u eat u jus dun put on weight.well rite now its ok coz u r jus 16 but when u *** in ur 20's u mite urself wanaa put sum weight on.dun bother but its better u consult a dietician n e1 a general physician who can send u to the rite specialist.

You sound a little bit skinny but if you eat 3 meals a day and eat good sized portions then it is fine. It could be that was how you were born and that its in your family. Just be happy with who you are!

That does sound a bit on the thin side. But if you're active, while maintaining a healthy and balanced diet then you don't have anything to worry about. You just might have a high metabolism. I would just take advantage of it because it doesn't last forever. If you feel good and have a lot of energy, don't worry about it. And don't worry so much about what other people say. People talk no matter what and they can be brutal, especially teenagers. Who knows, they may be a little jealous.

you seem to worry lot about what other people say about you. Dont do that. Thats how I ruined myself.

60 kg is the minimum weight you should be at 5ft 8" which isn't far off what you are now (BMI 20)
All you need to do is eat normally but make sure you substitute low calorie items for full fat, some people naturally burn more calories than others. I think your friends should worry about their own weight instead of worrying about yours. I expect you look beautiful!

well you need to eat more youre tall like me....but you should be weight about 75kgs. or more.

55 kg = 121 lbs. Yes, I'm afraid that's a bit skinny for 5'8". But you're only 16, so your metabolic rate is still high. Don't worry too much about it until you're 18 or 19. My guess is you'll gain some in the next couple of years.
