Trimming the waist?!


Question: I have been losing weight (around 23lbs right now), but my waist doesn't seem to be getting smaller and this is the area I want to lose. I mostly lose in my legs but I want to be proportionate. I know you can't spot target weight loss..but why am I not losing inches in my stomach area? It's really confusing..I do intense cardio every day ( treadmill for 40 minutes and exercise dvds for 60 minutes) I am losing weight..by why isn't my stomach shrinking? Please tell me what is wrong and how do I lose more weight in my waist area?

The bad news is no, there is no trick to whittling your waist, except cardio. Genetics can play a role in what areas your body prefers to store fat. However, the fact that you are losing fat is a good sign and congrats for that! Some people do tend to lose fat first in their arms and legs, perhaps since those fat stores are closer to large, energy-consuming muscle groups. Also simple muscle toning could also be helping those areas look trimmer. Keep up the cardio, but try adding some strength training that targets your core (crunches-make sure to work upper, lower and obliques, pilates moves- plank, tree pose, and the "V" are all good core strengtheners).

Some people just have harder times losing weight in specif areas. Try to do more twist crunchs. That'll probly help and twist whenever you can.

try sit ups nothings better then old fashon sit ups

Sometimes exercise dosent give you the results you want..i recommend watching what you eat...because the more fat your food has the bigger ur waist will get!! You can also try those things that u wrap around ur waist and it burns the fat off!! It worked for my sister! Good Luck!

try doing sit-ups..they tighten up the muscles in yur stomach..flattening your stomach...i do 110 a day and my stomach is totallie flat..before it wasnt..please please help me..im tryin to lose weight form my legs and thighs..how did u do itt???!!
