You don't need any fancy tools at all.

There is no such thing as "targeting" a specific area for weight loss. Unfortunately, when we lose weight, the tummy is the last to go. You will always lose weight around the face first.

To lose weight, the only excercise you need to focus on is "cardio" excercises which simply means excercises that make your heart pump harder such as fast walking, jogging, or running. Lifting weights, sit-ups and twisting side to side is a different type of excercise which builds muscle tone and does not effect weight change much so stick to "cardio" excercises. Then after you lose the weight you may want to focus on muscle tone.

There is only one focus when losing weight. BURN BURN BURN!!!!!! You simply want to get your heart rate up for a minimum of about 30 minutes per session and BURN the fat off. Anything less than 20 minutes per session doesn't allow your body to warm up enough to accomplish much. You can do jumping jacks, run in place, walk up and down stairs, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you get your heart rate up. In other words, do anything that will get you huffing and puffing. Don't look to your stomach for signs of weight loss at first or you will get discouraged; look at your face! That's where you will notice it first.

Diet: I recommend sticking with foods you already like. Just change your portions. One great way to lose through dieting is: During each meal, notice the point at which you first feel satisfied. Stop immediately at that point! We tend to keep right on eating after we're satisfied until we become full. Break that habit and you will notice the weight coming off.

If you normally eat 2 burgers, start eating just one instead. Cut all your portions in half. This way you don't go through disappointing withdrawals from your favorite foods. Remember: Learning to eat less of anything is an improvement!

You should check with your doctor for his approval before you start a cardio excercise program.

My wife and I bought a programmable treadmill and when I used it daily the weight came off very quickly. I recommend one if you can afford it. Making yourself stick to a predetermined program is the key! If you can't get a treadmill, run to the end of your driveway and back for a certain number of times each day (or run around the outside of your house). Anything that makes you huff and puff will work. Just create a plan that will get you doing that and stick to it and you will succeed!

WEIGHT LOSS IS REALLY VERY SIMPLE. KEEP IT THAT WAY. Don't waste time with TV gimmicks or promising programs. You can do it on your own! - And with better results!

Good luck with your battle!!! Now I must go and start mine again! I slacked off over a year ago! :(

Umm... Where is your belly ring??

Unfortunately for you you can't spot reduce weight. Anyone who tells you you can is lying. What that basically means is, there are no specific exercises that will help you burn weight off a certain part of your body. You need a decent exercise routine and a healthy diet. Your local gym will be able to give you a plan, and you can do exercises to firm up the area such as sit ups.

As for diet, if you're going to be working out you need to eat good carbs such as brown rice, fruit and veg, and lean meat like chicken breasts and turkey. Cut out things that will make you bloated such as bleached wheats (like white bread)

Good luck!

Eat 2000 calories a day, full of vegetables, lean meats, and low fat items. Run 5 days a week at moderate tempo for about 30 minutes. Just to let you know, doing stomach exercises will not reduce belly fat. It will just make your abs stronger. Only cardiovascular exercises will actually lose fat.

Try situps. No equipment needed. To get rid of the love handles twist to the side when you are coming up and that will work your obliques (love handles). Also crunches are good, too. Adding a twist to your crunches work the obliques, too. Just start with 12. Rest do 12 again. Rest. Do another set. Do this every other day. Increase amount of situps/crunches when you get comfortable with the 3 sets of 12. No equipment needed.

If you have no workout tools, I'd suggest joining a gym, like I did. I can't have equipment in the house 'cause dad just had a heart attack, and would try and use it. ( =X )

You need to do crunches, leg lifts, and go for long walks, even jogs when you feel up for it. Don't expect a miracle of weight loss in like - a week. Its taken me a few months to make the body that I wanted, and I only weighed 115 ( I am considerably shorter than you though - i'm tiny, haha)

So, try the normal sit ups and crunches every night.
Look up some leg lifts....
Lay on one side of your body, put your elbow on the floor and support your head. Do whatever is comfortable with the other arm. Raise your top leg up, hold it for a second, and bring it down slowly. I do about ten sets of twelve of these a day. They help your 'love handles'

Now, if you want a good work out for tummy fat, my trainer showed me this one.

Lay on your back, put your hands under your butt, and raise your legs off the floor until you look like an L. Lower your legs slowly. Do ten of these. On the tenth, hold your legs so they just stay above the floor, slowly count to ten, and release. I do ten sets of twelve of these as well, but it HURTS the first few times, so start slow.

Leg lifts are SO much easier!
