Should I not be a dietition?!

Question: Hi, i'm freshman in college, and I think I want to go into nutrition. I am very thin, and I eat healthy....but I eat ALOT! Like, my favorite foods to eat are greek yogurt, whole grain breads and pasta, nuts, and peanut butter..yum! (as well as my fruit and veggies) But, I also eat alot of chocolate, and pizza (organic pizza..if it makes a difference!)

My question is..If people saw me eating so much..would I have any clients? Also..I am very thin..if you saw a super thin dietition..would you think they were obsessed, or had an eating disorder? I don't know..I just don't want people to think that..because I don't!

Do you think it would be better to go into culinary arts, lol? (or would you not trust a skinny chef either?..lol)

Thanks..I just don't want to give advice out to people and be seen as hypocrite, since I eat like a pig myself!^^ (I love food!^^)

My sister is very thin and eats like a horse. She is almost done with school and is becoming a dietician. I don't think it makes any difference the way you look unless your extremely OVER weight, not under. I think it's a great career choice personally. They make pretty good money (enough to keep ya comfortable) and the need for them is definitely there. She doesn't really dig on the chem classes but otherwise she is very into it. I don't know what your so worried about anyway. I am not sure your going to be chowing down in front of your "clients." I wouldn't worry about it. Just pick whichever one interests you more and go for it. Good luck!

I'm sure your clients wont be watching what you are eating more than what they are eating.
Think of it this way...nurses are supposed to be all about health..but a lot of nurses are really fat!

Well I think you should practice good eating habits. You should know it would be all right to have your favorite foods but at a minimum. I was thinking the same thing as you. And since I am considering going into that career after high school I am shaping my eating habits right now, losing weight and exercising every day. I think your clients would have to see that you do take your job seriously..and that you are healthy. You should be an example to them. The nutritionist I went to see was a woman who looked so healthy. She was thin, but she had a nice glow to her. She was a retired navy officer around 30 years old. She took her job seriously and you could tell she was a healthy woman just by looking at her. There's a difference between looking thin and looking healthy.
