Why is my side hurting?!

Question: I walk about 4 miles every other day and have been for a few months now. Once in a while, my right side will start hurting after I have walked about a 1/2 mile and it burns? Any suggestions on how to prevent this? It doesn't happen every time.

I have been a runner for 20 years. They call that a "stitch". I get them only when I exercises close to the time when I have just finished eating and also when I don't breath correctly. I believe it has something to do with your diaphragm contracting and I don't think there is a "cure" for them. Just basically to walk it off. I have learned to wait one hour before I exercise after I have ate and I always focus on my breathing while I am doing my cardio, in through the nose out through the mouth. Hope that helps.

Get your gallbladder checked, it could be starting to malfunction, mine did that until, I started to throw up EVERYTHING I ate, had diarrhea ALL THE TIME!

ur tired or per iod crapms

Well first stretch and jog in place for a while to warm up then start to walk.

Etiher you're tired, or you're not getting enough air. Do some stretching excercises before your walk, to get the blood pumping. If you manage to regulate your breathing and take small breaks and it still burns at the same length, then you might want to visit a doctor.
Make sure you're eating right - always have water with you...

it is beeter to check up go to your medical Dr. and take some rest too.

if its close to you're navel go fore an appendix check.also check for kidney stones as you may not be hydrating correctly

Check with your OB GYN. Ovarian Cyst cause pain. My wife has it in her right side every other cycle.
