Yet another anorexia question....?!

Question: I have a friend who's...you could say overweight. Over the past few weeks I have noticed her having an obsession with her body, and she's been eating low calorie foods, and I'm not sure but I think I've seen her actually spit her food out instead of swallowing.

She's also been doing a good bit of exercising, like walking 2 hours a day and doing push ups and and sit ups. She drinks tons of water and nothing but water. She's always looking up eating disorders, weight loss sites, and diet pages on the net. Plus she's been downing a good bit of diet pills.

Over the past four to six weeks, she's lost about 15 to 20 pounds according to her. And she thinks she's gained muscle mass.

I'm really beginning to worry about her habits. If it had been a two week phaze I wouldn't have worried, but I'm scared she'll damage her body. So, here's the question...Could she be anorexic? Or could she be developing it? I've just always heard that anorexics start out skinny.

Thanks all in advance.

Okay so. I've gone through the same thing. But with myself.
I dd the same thing she's been doing. And if she's lost that much, i'd say its a problem.
Talk to her about it. Bring up your concerns to her. Tell her you're worried and make sure you don't accuse her of anything. Be very careful how you word it and just ask.
If she denies it then i think you shoudl talk to your parents. She is basically killing herself. Set up an intervention with all of these points ready to tell her. And show her she has a problem.
am so grateful my friend did that for me. I was so mad at her at first and i would not talk to her. But i then realized (with the help of treatment) that she saved my life and now we're even closer.
Don't brush this off. Help her.
Good luck.

no they do not she could be developing into one ex anorexic

its very good that your concerned about your friend..and it is possible she is on the verge of developing an eating disorder
that is a myth..not all anorexics start out skinny
some do..while others are people just trying to lose weight..but it gets out of control.
try talking to your friend or refer her to a counsler
or tell her parents if you must
but remember if she does develop an eating disorder she will be trapped..it will be harder for her to over come it
if you help her now it might be easier for her to lose weight healthy

pills are bolemos... Talk to her and tell her how u feel. She's developing something
