Are you a male? Running and running more each month gets' rid of a man's gut. Women can benefit, too. Just do more.
But eating a good breakfast as soon as you get up with a proportioned cereal and milk bowl with no sugar added, a whole citrus fruit and no toast or butter, with an egg or two cooked in a teaspoon of olive oil will kickstart your metabolism to burn calories for the day.
You will be hungry for lunch- don't have a sandwich- or fries. Eat a salad that has dark lettuce like romaine or spinach, and lots of tomatoes, onions, broccoli etc.- cucumbers, a bit of avocado- just anything you like and that doesn't include cheese by the handful- with only two teaspoons of low-fat dressing- better yet, with lemon sprinkled on it. Have some grilled chicken or lean strips of beef in it, or tuna. Eat a fruit.
Juice and soda and all other sugared drinks are forbidden.
Non-sugar sweeteners make one more hungry. too!
Eat all your food and dinner before 4 pm.
Have yogurt and bread as a snack 1 1/2 hours before bed.
Drink water with each meal, and in between.
Use 1/2 cup pasta, rice, potato, icecream, fruit, vegetables; anything usually, the serving size is: 1/2 cup.
No white bread at all- use whole grain cereals and bread. Hamburger and/or beef is only to be eaten 2 to 3 times per a seven day period. Serving size of meat is 2 ounces, or the size of a deck of cards in your hand.
Try beans, and peanut butter, and you can have milk 3 times and/or cheese the sie of a domino - a day.
Park three blocks from your destination, and you will get used to walking.
Walk fast enough until you can't talk and breath at the same time,
30 minutes being a good exercize time for any activity, to get your heart pumping faster.
If you diet, eat protein snacks and a balanced 5-6 small meals a day. Not having protein makes' your body use it's muscle up . Its' called catabolizing, and when you gain weight again, it is fat that goes into the places the muscles used to be.
It takes' a year to see any real results-
Losing more than 2 pounds a week is unhealthy for you. Take vitamin supplement with your cereal and orange in morning, to absorb the iron.
SLEEPING At least 8 hours at a regular bedtime will help you not be fat-
Diabetes happens' to people who don't rest, too- because your immune system is affected .

just go on a diet for 6 months you'll probably loose one pound a month and eat healthy and exercise

I'm not sure how much you would have to lose, but if you want to lose it fast i would suggest the special k diet. in two months i lost 25 pounds. i am still on it and still losing weight.

i would assume that at that weight and height and fat%, you are a female.
you have to understand that even if you lose weight, it's not all gonna be fat, unless you know how to weight train, and how to diet correctly. and when i say "correctly" i mean knowing how to calculate your basal metabolic rate, how many calories you need if you are going to add weight training and cardio, ratios in each meal, number of calories in each meal, how many meals, where to put simple carbs, where to put starchy and complex carbs, how to manipulate all of that to suite you... etc.

very few people know how to do this, and that's why they get paid a lot of money to do it.

if you are at 25% fat 140 lbs, that means you have 35 lbs of fat on you. you will not lose pure fat (i assure you) and if you're lucky, you will lose weight at a rate of 1 lb muscle to 1 lb fat... so, if you drop 30 lbs (15 lbs of muscle, 15 lbs of fat), you would be 19% fat. which is pretty lean for a female. this will take you roughly 16-20 weeks to accomplish AFTER you figured out how you will do this.
